Carbyne has been retained to support our partner, a worldwide recognized pharmaceutical company, to search and select an SLT member for the Head of EHS position.
This colleague will be responsible for the effective management of the EHS team managing all Health, Safety and Environment related activities on their flagship site in Budapest.

This colleague will be responsible for the effective management of the EHS team managing all Health, Safety and Environment related activities on their flagship site in Budapest.
Main tasks include:
- Coordinate the work of various departments within the organization and leverage potential synergies while setting priorities
- Develop and monitor indicators suitable for assessing HSSE performance
- Prepare and update the site risk matrix, creating action plans to reduce risk levels
- Propose a site master plan for HSSE at the facility
- Develop and publish guidelines for creating an annual development planto reduce HSSE-related business risks and comply with regulatory changes
- Assess the implications of regulatory requirements, inform management and plan and oversee necessary actions
- Establish and supervise an effective emergency response organization, including the approval and professional review of the emergency response plan
- Prepare for HSSE audits at the site and track compliance with regulations and commitments
- Develop and oversee effective training and internal inspection systems
- Manage leadership on-call responsibilities
- Ensure the quality of professional data reporting to authorities and group-level requirements
- Propose cost-effective development initiatives and evaluate changes from an HSSE perspective, representing the site for authorities and professional organizations
Requirements:
- University degree, primarily in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
- Environmental Engineering qualification
- 5 years of experience in HSSE:operationalor technical fields, at least4 yearsleadership role background
- Knowledge of environmental, environmental safety, security, health and safety and asset protection
- Familiarity with relevant regulations in the field
- Understanding of corporate technologies
- Skills in leadership, organization, change managementand project management
- Proficient in English (negotiation level) and fluent in Hungarian
- User-level knowledge of computers (proficiency in Office tools)
