Our international client in the in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) sector, known for its broad portfolio across clinical testing, research technologies, and biotech innovation, is expanding its presence throughout the EMEA region. To support this growth, they are looking to appoint a seasoned Senior Accounting & Reporting Accountant to oversee financial operations for several smaller entities in Western Europe, with a focus on France. This pivotal role ensures compliance and precision in financial reporting under both US GAAP and local statutory standards, while fostering collaboration across internal teams and managing relationships with external auditors. This is a fixed-term opportunity (2,5 years maternity cover) with many growth potential and the possibility for future career progression.
Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly accounting close and internal reporting under US GAAP for several smaller entities in Western Europe.
 - Oversee annual statutory reporting under local GAAP and ensure compliance with tax and regulatory filings.
 - Coordinate and manage statutory audits, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors and accounting providers.
 - Maintain reconciliations between US GAAP and local GAAP, documenting timing and permanent differences.
 - Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Internal Audit, and Tax teams across EMEA and corporate headquarters.
 - Support corporate income tax audits and contribute to ad hoc financial projects.
 - Apply expert knowledge of financial principles to regulatory reporting and document conclusions clearly.
 - Drive process improvements and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
 - Build strong relationships with business partners and finance teams, supporting their understanding of systems and processes.
 
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or equivalent.
 - 5–7 years of accounting experience in a multinational corporation or Big 4 firm.
 - Strong understanding of US GAAP and at least one statutory GAAP within EMEA.
 - Proficient in SAP, Power BI, Blackline, OneSource, or similar systems.
 - Advanced Excel skills and a continuous improvement mindset (Lean/6-Sigma preferred).
 - Fluent in English (written and verbal); additional European language (French) is a plus.
 - Excellent time management, analytical thinking, and interpersonal communication skills.
 - Flexible team player with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
