To support their expanding data-driven operations, they are seeking a skilled Senior Bioinformatician & Data Scientist to join their dynamic, mission-driven team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data processing, cleaning, transformation, modeling, and quality control for client services and research projects.
  • Develop, optimize, and apply data science and bioinformatics methods, tools, and pipelines.
  • Manage and analyze large-scale genomic datasets (e.g., FASTQ, BAM, VCF).
  • Support team members with technical tasks and contribute to methodological development.
  • Prepare and deliver regular progress and status reports.
  • Participate in team and cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to product development and strategic company initiatives.
  • Stay current with relevant scientific literature, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

  • University degree in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Biology, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Strong skills in statistical methods, data cleaning, machine learning, and data visualization.
  • Proficiency in Python (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn) and experience with Unix/Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of core genomic data formats and basic Bash scripting.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset, proactive attitude, and ability to work independently and in a team.

Desirable

  • Experience in bioinformatics or data science research projects.
  • Knowledge of biostatistics and omics data analysis.
  • Familiarity with SQL-based databases (e.g., SQLite, MySQL).
  • Advanced programming skills (C, C++, Rust) or performance optimization experience.
  • Understanding of DevOps/MLOps principles and experience with AWS/cloud environments.
