Our partner, an innovator in Europe's preventive and predictive medical technology sector, is expanding and seeking a Clinical Geneticist. The role involves providing consultations and advisory services related to Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS). The new team member will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively within the genetics team.
Responsibilities:
- Providing genetic counseling before and after Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS)
- Reviewing and interpreting WGS results
- Preparing genetic reports, summarizing analysis results and conclusions
- Collaborating with physicians, researchers, bioinformaticians, data scientists, and IT professionals
- Defining disease and gene panels for testing based on the client’s phenotype
- Keeping up to date with professional guidelines and best practices
- Staying informed about scientific literature related to WGS testing and participating in scientific conferences
- Contributing to the development and management of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ensuring product compliance with applicable regulations.
Requirements, Preferred Qualifications & Competencies:
- Medical degree with specialization in clinical genetics
- Adaptability and analytical skills
- English in working proficiency
- User skills in basic computer applications
- Experience in Whole Exome Sequencing (WES), Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), and variant interpretation
- Knowledge of Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) and polygenic risk scores
- Previous experience in genetic counseling
- Familiarity with germline variant interpretation based on ACMG and ClinGen guidelines
- Understanding of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies.
