The CMO Manager acts as a virtual plant lead, responsible for the performance of assigned external manufacturing sites, primarily in Italy and Scotland. The role ensures reliable and accurate on-time, in-full delivery, enforces contractual commitments, and provides operational leadership for manufacturing projects and technology transfers.
Key responsibilities:- Day-to-day operational oversight and long-term strategic management of assigned European CMO partners
- Ensuring reliable and accurate on-time, in-full delivery, including order tracking and proactive mitigation of potential supply issues
- Participation in technology transfers, new product introductions, and site-to-site transfer projects
- Close collaboration with internal Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Research and Development, and Legal functions, as well as senior stakeholders at external partners
- Oversight of cost structures, identification of cost optimization opportunities, and improvement of contractual terms
- Ensuring compliance of manufacturing processes with GxP and current Good Manufacturing Practice requirements, as well as applicable local regulations
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in sterile or aseptic manufacturing environments, with solid knowledge of contract manufacturing processes
- Strong background in supply chain, production planning, or procurement
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills in a matrix organization, with the ability to work independently and take ownership
- Fluent, business-level English
- Willingness to travel regularly within Europe (approximately once every two months
