On behalf of our client, a major international manufacturing group, we are seeking a Global Costing Controller. Based in Budapest, this strategic role is responsible for harmonizing global cost accounting practices across international production sites (covering finished goods, API, and CDMO). You will play a pivotal role in driving standard costing governance, optimizing group-level product costs, and shaping the conceptual design for a major upcoming SAP S/4HANA implementation.
Responsibilities
- Standard Costing & Standardization: Establish and operate SKU-level standard costing practices globally. Support the development of the Group Costing Manual to standardize processes across all production sites.
- Affiliate Steering: Guide, train, and challenge Finance and Costing personnel at foreign operations sites.
- Performance & Reporting: Manage budgeting, forecasting, closing, accrual preparation, and variance analysis for standard product costs and COGS. Prepare performance materials for Executive Management.
- Systems & SAP S/4HANA: Support the concept design and implementation of standard costing and COGS reporting within a new SAP S/4HANA environment and new planning software.
- Operational Efficiency: Drive product cost efficiencies via internal/external benchmarking, optimize local site levers, and support M&A integration activities as needed.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ of progressive experience in standard/product costing, factory controlling, or operational finance within a complex multinational company (e.g., Pharma, Chemicals, FMCG). HQ or multi-site experience is preferred.
- Systems: Practical experience calculating COGS and product costing within SAP is required; SAP implementation experience is a major plus.
- Technical Skills: Strong conceptual knowledge of management accounting, IFRS, HAS (Hungarian Accounting Standards), consolidation, and managing large datasets.
- Core Competencies: Highly analytical mindset, excellent communication skills for senior management, and a collaborative, high-energy approach.
- Languages: Fluency in both English and Hungarian is mandatory.
