Senior Accountant
On behalf of our partner, an innovative pharmaceutical company focusing on oncology and rare diseases, we are looking for a highly capable Senior Accountant to oversee the Hungarian financial operations.
Operating in a close-knit regional setup where Hungary and Romania work hand-in-hand, this role does not focus on hands-on transactional bookkeeping. Instead, you will act as the key supervisor, project manager, and critical link between external service providers, the shared service center (SSC), and regional management.

- Act as the primary gatekeeper to ensure the correctness of accounting records, financial statements, and balance sheets as required by law.
- Coordinate and warrant the accuracy of financial information, serving as the first point of contact for state and tax authorities.
- Manage transparency reporting internally and to local authorities.
Systems & Project Management
- Drive and support the company through an intensive period of system upgrades and implementations (e.g., recent SAP module deployment).
- Maintain data integrity and utilization across various financial systems (SAP, Anaplan, BFC, Diapason, TM1, Microstrategy, Ariba, etc.).
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Collaborate closely with internal departments, providing financial/accounting support on joint projects.
- Manage financial reporting workflows to Headquarters (HQ) and ensure strict adherence to corporate deadlines.
Requirements & Competencies
- Experience: 6–7 years of solid experience in finance/accounting
- Industry Background: Pharma background is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Education: Master’s degree or equivalent educational background. Certified Chartered Accountant status (mérlegképes könyvelő) is preferred but not a strict prerequisite.
- Systems: Previous exposure to SAP is highly critical ; experience with reporting tools (TM1, Anaplan) is a plus.
- Languages: Proficiency in English (written and spoken corporate communication) + local language knowledge is a must.
- Soft Skills: High level of accountability, ability to manage business complexity, and stellar stakeholder management skills to interface smoothly between external vendors and internal HQ.
