Representing our multinational biopharmaceutical manufacturing partner, recognized worldwide, we are actively seeking a Production Unit Leader to join their expanding facility in Hungary. In close collaboration with Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Maintenance departments, this position will assume responsibility for antigen production and oversee the daily operations of a team comprising 25 members. Additionally, active involvement in fostering the professional growth of team members will be a key facet of this role.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Daily Operations Management: Take charge of the daily operations of the production unit, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with GMP standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of 3-5 subordinates, providing guidance, coaching, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of medium-term strategic initiatives that align with the overall company goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with quality assurance, maintenance, environmental health and safety (EHS), and supply chain teams to ensure seamless production processes.
  • Production Planning: Assist in the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual production plans to meet production targets.
  • Communication: Establish effective communication channels within the unit, ensuring that information flows efficiently among team members.
  • Performance Management: Implement and improve Tier systems, interpret and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence.
  • People Management: Provide regular feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and support the professional development of team members.
  • Process Development: Be actively involved in process development and industrialization efforts, contributing to innovation and optimization.
  • Financial Management: Maintain budgetary control, ensuring that financial indicators are met and costs are managed effectively.

Basic requirements to apply for this role:
  • ​​​​​​Proficiency in spoken and written English and Hungarian
  • Hold a university degree (preferably an MSc) in bioengineering, food engineering, chemical engineering, pharmacy, or biology
  • Possess 4-5 years of pertinent experience in production
  • Demonstrate 2-3 years of leadership experience, including the supervision of first-line managers
