About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components primarily molded plastic parts- for next‑generation analytical instruments. You will contribute across the entire development cycle, from early concept creation and prototyping to final production. The focus is on delivering robust, manufacturable, and user‑centered solutions.
You will work in a supportive, open environment where collaboration and knowledge‑sharing are part of everyday life. Responsibilities

Take ownership of mechanical development tasks for new instruments

Translate user needs and system requirements into mechanical concepts

Build early prototypes and validate design ideas
- Ensure manufacturability and robustness through tolerance analysis and sound engineering principles
- Work with toolmakers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to finalize production‑ready designs
- Support continuous improvement of design processes and product quality
Must‑Have Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

At least 5 years of experience in mechanical product development

Proven experience finalizing parts for production

Strong proficiency in 3D/2D CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred)

Solid understanding of DfA, DfM, and DfS principles
-
Experience designing plastic components
- Fluent English skills
Nice‑to‑Have Skills

Knowledge of injection molding and tooling design
-
Experience with FEA/CAE simulation tools
-
Familiarity with material selection (metals, glass, thermoplastics, elastomers)
-
Hands‑on experience with prototyping and additive manufacturing
- Understanding of relevant standards and compliance requirements (ISO, CE, food/medical)
